More about lawn turf in Worsley

Lawn turf cut to order for Worsley, supplied on its own for you to lay or supplied and laid through Barrow Landscaping. The bigger back gardens around Worsley Village and Beesley Green are exactly the sort of returfing job that pays to get right, and a fresh new lawn on properly prepped ground beats patching a tired one year after year.

A lot of Worsley plots sit under mature trees, so shade is the thing to watch. Turf wants decent light to establish, so if your lawn is north-facing or stuck in the shadow of an oak, ask us before you order and we will tell you straight whether turf is the right move for that spot.

We deliver across Worsley and the surrounding area: Boothstown, Ellenbrook, Roe Green, Beesley Green, Worsley Village and beyond (M28).

Can you returf a large lawn in Worsley?

Yes, big lawns are our bread and butter out here. We cut the turf to order the day before so it goes down fresh, and a full returf on the supply-and-lay covers stripping the old grass, rotavating, levelling and bringing in topsoil first. Measure the area in square metres, the turf is £4 per m2 supplied, or ask for a full supplied-and-laid figure.

Will turf grow in a shaded Worsley garden?

Under the mature trees you get around Worsley Village and Roe Green, shade is the honest worry. Our premium lawn turf does well on open lawns that catch the light, but heavy shade is hard on any turf. Send a photo of the spot before you order and we will tell you whether it is worth doing.

Can I just buy turf and lay it myself?

Yes. We supply turf cut to order for you to take delivery of and lay yourself. Because it is cut fresh it needs laying within about a day, so have the ground prepared and ready before it arrives: dug over, levelled, raked to a fine tilth and firmed. If you want the ground doing too, that is what the supplied-and-laid option is for.

What does supplied and laid mean?

It means the whole job is handled, not just the turf. Barrow Landscaping comes out and measures, prepares the ground properly, strips any old lawn, levels it and brings in topsoil where it is needed, then lays fresh turf the day it is cut. You get a finished lawn rather than a pallet of turf to deal with. It is the option most people go for once they see the price difference against buying materials and hiring a rotavator.

When is the best time to lay turf?

Spring and autumn are ideal, when the ground is warm and there is usually enough rain to help it root. Turf can go down almost all year as long as the ground is not frozen or waterlogged. Summer laying is fine but needs a strict watering routine while it establishes. We will be honest about timing when you enquire.
