Topsoil in Eccles

Good topsoil is where a healthy garden starts. We supply one grade: screened topsoil at £70 per bulk bag, delivered across Leigh and Greater Manchester.

More about topsoil in Eccles

Topsoil is our steadiest drop into Eccles, and most of it goes onto new-build gardens where the builders left next to nothing over the clay. We sell one soil and it does the lot: screened topsoil at £70 a bulk bag, graded and rake-ready. It builds up levels behind a new wall, beds a new lawn and fills borders and raised beds without you having to pick between grades.

Everything comes in bulk bags of roughly 0.7 cubic metres, craned off kerbside. That suits the terraces round Patricroft and the town centre with no drive just as well as the bigger Ellesmere Park and Monton plots, where a larger job simply takes more bags. Rather not barrow it about? Ask about having it delivered and spread when you order.

We deliver across Eccles and the surrounding area: Monton, Winton, Patricroft, Barton, Peel Green and beyond (M30).

How much topsoil do I need for a new-build lawn in Eccles?

For a new lawn aim for about 100mm of good topsoil over the prepared ground. One bulk bag is roughly 0.7 cubic metres, so it covers around 7 square metres at that depth. On the estates around Barton and Peel Green the base is usually so poor you want the full depth. Give us the lawn size and we will work out the bags.

What is the difference between screened and unscreened topsoil?

Screened topsoil is passed through a mesh that removes stones, root and lumps, so it is clean and easy to work, and it is the right choice for lawns, beds and anything you are planting into. Unscreened topsoil is cheaper but full of whatever came off site, and it is not a seed bed. Ours is screened, so what arrives is ready to use.

How much does a bulk bag of topsoil cost?

A bulk bag of our screened topsoil is £70, plus delivery from £20, worked out from your postcode and the size of the order. Put your postcode into the delivery checker and it confirms the exact figure before you order.

Can you deliver topsoil to a back garden?

We deliver kerbside as standard, which means the nearest safe spot to the property, usually the drive or the front. Getting it round the back is down to access. If you would rather not barrow it yourself, ask about delivered and spread: Barrow Landscaping brings the soil in and levels it out for you. Ask when you order.
